True to form, Historic Downtown Long Grove is bringing back its annual homage to Strawberries at this eponymously-named festival. After a brief hiatus last year, Strawberry Fest is returning by popular demand. It seems people have a strong desire for summer’s favorite fruit, Strawberries – nature’s original sugary goodness beloved by child and adult alike. At Strawberry Fest 2017, producers are promising “top-notch” musical talent along with three days committed to all things strawberry, from chefs shelling out prime rib sandwiches lathered in strawberry salsa to hungry bellies competing in strawberry pie-eating contests. Although Strawberry Fest begins and ends with the almighty strawberry, in no way is it an exclusive strawberry party. For those who want to mix it up, all Midwest summer fruits will be represented, offering diverse creations for every taste bud. In addition to three stages of live entertainment programmed by Ravenswood Special Events, Strawberry Fest 2017 will see the return of the renowned Kid Zone, with timeless fun like water balloon toss, flower crown arts, ballroom dancing, and junior knight training.
