Egg Hunt Walkthrough

Egg Hunting With a Twist!

Saturday, March 27, 2021

Noon – 4:00 pm

Brother’s Field, 344 Old McHenry Rd.

We appreciate the community interest in this event! We have reached capacity and registration is now closed.

The Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association is pleased to announce that the spring tradition of egg hunting is back — with a socially-distanced twist! This year will be a bit different than in past years — with families safely hopping from station to station through the Egg Hunt experience area located at Brother’s Field (next to the Fred Astaire Dance Studio). These necessary pandemic-specific modifications are meant to ensure this day is safe and fun for all families, volunteers and staff.

Check out all of the exciting things planned for this FREE event! More details will be added as we receive confirmation.

  • Socially-distanced walk through experience for egg hunting
  • Plenty of filled eggs — bring your own basket
  • Take family photos throughout our festive backdrop and with the Easter Bunny — kept safe behind a plexiglass divider
  • Free goody bags for kids (while supplies last)
  • DJ — live on site
  • Firetruck on site
  • Chance for attendees to win a gift basket if registered
  • More to come!

Please note that registration is now required for this event. When you register, we are able to plan for the number of visitors and secure enough volunteers to ensure you are able to complete our Egg Hunt safely. Registered attendees will be automatically entered to win gift baskets donated by the Long Grove Community Church. Due to high demand, registrations will be capped at 500.

**We ask that you practice social distancing and are requiring masks or face covering while participating in this event.

Jelly Bean Scavenger Hunt

Receive a list of participating merchants and make your way around town to hunt for, and count the jelly beans in containers you find at those businesses. Turn in your guesses at the Visitors Center for a chance to win a prize donated by the merchants participating in the hunt.

Peeps Show

Businesses in historic downtown Long Grove are currently busy designing dioramas featuring Peeps® marshmallow candies. You’ll have the opportunity to visit participating merchants where their Peep Shows will be on display from March 24 – April 4. You can vote for your favorite display (details to come) and the winning merchant will receive a special Peep Show Award.

Sold Out!  Horse Drawn Carriage Rides

Interest in this activity has been extremely positive! Due to an overwhelming response as of March 11, our carriage rides have officially SOLD OUT!

Enjoy a special trip around town and take in all that spring has to offer during a Horse Drawn Carriage Ride. To manage crowds and lines associated with the activity during the pandemic, we are using an online registration system. This will allow patrons to secure a reserved time in advance and allow us to practice safe social distancing between parties throughout the check-in and ride and prepare the carriage for the following group. Masks are required during all aspects of this activity.

Reservations are $15 per section (6 person maximum)
Reserve the full carriage for $30 (both sections, 12 person maximum)

Rides may be cancelled due to inclement weather for the safety of the horses and our guests. If this should happen, refunds will be issued for reserved groups.

A waiver is required for each group. We ask that you download and complete THIS WAIVER and return it to us when you check in for your carriage ride.

** Masks or face coverings are required while participating in this event.
